Amanda Nash received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Houston in 2018 and a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Rice University under advisor Dr. Omid Veiseh where she worked on developing implantable cytokine factories for controlled modulation of the immune system. This work led to the creation of Avenge Bio, Sentinel BioTx and a phase I/II clinical trial (NCT05538624) for women with ovarian cancer. Following graduate school, Amanda trained as a management consultant at McKinsey and Company where she specialized in business development, portfolio strategy and operational excellence for top pharmaceutical and medtech companies. Dr. Nash is now an Assistant Professor in the Bioengineering Department at Rice University and is interested in developing engineered extracellular vesicle-based therapeutics for immunological disorders.
